The North Yorkshire Youth Justice Service is an
established and successful countywide multi-agency
partnership, responsible for preventing youth crime
and reducing re-offending. We provide a range of
services to young offenders and their families, as
well as to the victims of youth crime.
We are looking for a committed, flexible and
creative first-line manager to join our Eastern area
team, based in Scarborough. The successful applicant
will be qualified in Social Work, Probation or Youth
Work, and demonstrate proven ability to deliver
professional standards of structured casework within
a busy team environment. This demands the highest
standards of professional judgement, combined with
leadership and creative energy.
You will also contribute to developing service and
practice standards across the countywide service.

is an established and successful countywide
multi-agency partnership, responsible for preventing
youth crime and reducing re-offending. We are
currently seeking an experienced professional case
manager to join our Eastern area team, based in
Selby.
We provide a range of services to young offenders
and their families, as well as to the victims of
youth crime. We are looking for a committed,
flexible and creative professional, preferably with
a qualification in Social Work, Probation, Youth
Work or an equivalent field. Positive engagement &
motivation skills gained through previous experience
of working with troubled young people are essential.
The Youth Justice Service uses an electronic case
management database. Applicants must therefore have
the ability to deliver professional standards of
casework within a structured assessment system,
including good case recording and keyboard skills.
You will manage a mixed caseload of young people,
ensuring that each of them receives high standards
of assessment & intervention, and that our
safeguarding & public protection duties are fully
met. You will also have opportunities to explore new
areas of practice, including restorative justice,
participation and groupwork activity, and to work
closely with a wide range of partner agencies.
The successful applicant will enjoy high standards
of training and managerial support, and a supportive
working team environment within well-equipped
offices. Flexible working is positively supported to
meet the needs of our service users and staff.
