Performance
The performance of North Yorkshire Youth Justice
Service is regularly measured and assessed by
national government, by our local strategic
partners, and by our own management team. The aim is
to ensure that our services are effective, efficient
and achieve good outcomes.
Our annual plan for 2011/12 (click here to view) focuses on the following areas:
- Resourcing and Value for Money
- Structure and Governance
- Partnership Arrangements
- Risks to Future Delivery
The 2012/13 annual plan will be published in July, 2012.
Youth Justice Indicators
The Government is focussing on three key outcomes:
· Reducing the number of first time entrants to the youth justice system
· Reducing re-offending
· Reducing custody numbers
The performance of the Youth Justice Service against the three outcome indicators is reviewed quarterly by the regional Youth Justice Board team and reported to the Youth Justice Service Management Board, which comprises of senior officers from key partner agencies.
Local Strategic Targets
In addition to the above indicators, the Youth Justice Service is committed to assisting in the delivery of a number of strategic priorities within the 2011-14 Children’s and Young People’s Plan for North Yorkshire . The following additional priorities contained within the Plan are particularly relevant:
· Increasing the percentage of young offenders in suitable housing
· Increasing the percentage of young offenders who are engaged in education, training or employment
· Improving the integration and impact of work for teenagers with multiple vulnerabilities, including care leavers and those leaving custody.
