The aims of the LCJB are to promote an efficient and effective criminal justice system through joint working by all criminal justice organisations in the county. This includes the delivery of high quality services to victims and witnesses.

Relevant organisations are represented at a senior level and include:

• Youth Offending Teams (both North Yorkshire and City of York)

• Police

• Crown Prosecution Service

• Victim Support Service

• Her Majesty’s Court Service

• Probation Service

• Her Majesty’s Prison Service

• Legal Services Commission
